The third edition of the “Inspector of ammunition depots” course took place in the specific context of the COVID-19 crisis from Monday 02 March 2020 to Friday 27 March 2020.
This course, the objective of which is to train technicians capable of carrying out an inspection of ammunition depots, saw the participation of 14 trainees from eight countries namely: Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Guinea, Madagascar, Niger, CAR and DRC.
Lasting four weeks, the internship was furnished with theoretical lessons and practical sessions focused on three (03) pillars which are:
• Ammunition storage and transport requirements
• Pyrotechnic safety study
• Roles and responsibilities of the inspector.
During the third week of the course, the trainees had the honor of following a conference moderated by Col AHOUANVOEDO Didier, Director of Material of the Beninese Armed Forces. This conference, which had for theme, “the management of risks related to weapons and ammunition”, was particularly appreciated by all the trainees who learned much more about their future role as inspector.
At the end of the internship, eight (08) interns obtained an average greater than or equal to 12/20, the average required to obtain the qualification; which equates to a success rate of 61.54%.
